The British government should end its requirement for air passengers to disembark in Turkey when flying between North Cyprus and the UK, a member of the House of Lords has urged.
Lord Sharkey, vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, said that the move would provide a tourism boost to the TRNC's economy.
The current set of rules, where-by passengers must disembark in Turkey, along with their baggage, was imposed in 2017, after the UK government deemed that there were security weaknesses at Ercan Airport.
